about

PAY WHAT YOU FEEL & WHAT YOU CAN - 100% OF PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE EQUAL JUSTICE INITIATIVE

This track was inspired by Folk Alliance International and is in support of The Equal Justice Initiative. It was recorded over three days (Feb 19-21) in Kansas City, MO at the 2015 Folk Alliance International Conference with some of our favorite musical colleagues, including The Stray Birds, Ellis Paul, and Laura Cortese. In the spirit of the collaborative nature of the project and the positivity of the song itself, we will be donating 100% of the proceeds of the song's sale to The Equal Justice Initiative, which seeks fair and just treatment for all citizens.

From the good folks at EJI - "Thank you, Roosevelt Dime, for supporting the work of EJI! We are thrilled you have chosen to stand with us."

lyrics

What your hands do,
It's your own eyes that see,
So won't you judge you're actions
To make sure the results are clean.
It's your own conscience that is gonna remind you
That it's your heart and nobody else's
That is gonna judge.

Be not selfish in your doings,
Pass it on
Help your brothers in their needs
Pass it on
Live for yourself - you will live in vain
Live for others - you will live again
In the kingdom of earth love shall reign
Pass it on,...

What's in the darkness
Must be revealed to light
We're not here to judge what's good from bad
But to do the things that are right
On a hot sunny day
Under the shadow is rescue
But as the day grows old
I know where the sun is gonna find you

Be not selfish in your doings,
Pass it on
Help your brothers in their needs
Pass it on
Live for yourself - you will live in vain
Live for others - you will live again
In the kingdom of earth love shall reign
Pass it on,...
